Accelerating the development of new cannabis based therapeutics. We’re using a data DAO and open-source data-NFT marketplace being built on the Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM) to incentivize data sharing at every point in the value chain between regulators, researchers, clinicians, cultivators, and consumers.
The initial impetus behind this project was a desire to unlock cannabis testing data my former clients had no incentive to share with each other. As I became more entrenched in the world of web3 and DAOs it learned to articulate my true desire to make knowledge a public good and access to it a human right. Lastly, this specific project has massive potential to impact and improve human life by decentralizing and lowering the cost to develop new therapeutics. For example, this could be used to improve outcomes in people suffering from rare diseases that don’t typically receive enough funding in traditional drug development pipelines.
This project is a spin-off from my former research and diagnostic laboratory service that I operated as Founder/CEO between 2017-2022. I've been working on CGD since August 2021.The marketplace parameters, potential impact, and consequences have been thoroughly explored both from the commercial and community perspectives. During our extended design and prototyping phase the necessary technological primitives have improved such that we can now solidify key variables in our roadmap using established paradigms of web3 system design and DAO governance. We’ve now assembled a team of technical contributors along with a community of enthusiasts and supporters. Our team is aiming to have a functional MVP deployed on testnet by mid-June resulting from our participation in EthGlobal HackFS.
Our primary goal would be to achieve a mainnet marketplace launch fully monetized using fees on transactions. Our users would consist of data providers, data consumers, storage deal proposers, and compute clients running jobs. We would also initiate our first cohort of members into the data DAO and deploy a chatbot that helps users identify cannabis products that match their desired effects. The chatbot would be monetized independently from the marketplace using a product recommendation engine and affiliate commission strategy.
